研究の目的と概要

As stated last year in the initial application of shakai system innovation center, this research attempts to investigate challenges of Japanese firms when overtaking foreign targets. For Japanese firms it became recently popular to overtake foreign firms. In 2018, there were around 3.800 takeovers, the highest number ever. Interestinglz, there were around 3.000 domestic deals with a transaction volume of around 20 US billion dollars (2 cho en). In contrast, 800 deals of cross border deals were reported where Japanese firms acquired foreign targets. The transaction deal volume was around 200 billion US dollars (20 cho en). In spite of these high payments, Japanese firms face serious trouble with their targets, starting from overpayment to problems and challenges in the integration. This year (2019), I would like to focus my research on the issue of integration. How do Japanese firms successfully integrate their targests is the essence of this years research.
