研究の目的と概要
I applied for this kaken the last two years successfully – and published with all the team members several papers at international, blind reviewed journals. The number of Japanese M&A deals remain to be high in 2019 with over 4.000 deals.
Now facing corona virus and having a standstill not only in Japan but everywhere in the world, the number of cases will go down. However, the topic of M&A will remain to be very important. This year, the negoation period is to be investigated. Also, because of financial problems of many firms, there are chances for some of the firms to expand their businesses by overtaking firms in other countries. This project aims to investigate negotiation period and especially the influence of corona on firms to overtake other firms. The place of investigation will be mainly Germany. The main investigator would like to interview managers of German firms who were overtaken by Japanese firms.
